A Solstice Supper. Easy hosting.
A hosting template for long, luminous summer evenings. And a cooling herbal tea.
The Seasonal Table
A simple recipe or pantry ritual for the week.
The light never truly leaves us now. June is the solstice, the peak of the year, when the midnight sun turns the water silver and the sky a bruised, beautiful purple. The island feels expansive, abundant, and entirely awake. The days blur into the evenings, and our meals should do the same.
A field note from the island
The midnight sun does strange things to time. In June, we often find ourselves eating dinner at ten o'clock at night, simply because the sky is still a brilliant, bruised purple and no one wants to go inside. The food has to match this loose, unhurried rhythm.
A taste of this week's table
This Sunday's table is built around a solstice supper that doesn't ask too much. Its a hosting template for summer evenings, paired with a small pantry ritual: Summer Cooling Tea. The full recipe, the alternatives, and the ritual of serving are below for paid members of The Slow Sunday Club.
